Hanon x New Balance 1500 Chosen Few


The New Balance 1500 CHF “Chosen Few” is the work of Hanon Shop. Its release


is scheduled for August 31. The sneaker store came up with this model for the


30 years of the Flimby factory: Hanon x New Balance 1500 “Chosen Few.

Hanon has often signed some very nice collaborations.





I have in mind the beautiful Reebok Pump Omni Zone. The English shop has also

New Balance 999 & 1600: nice sneakers for 2013 The New Balance 1600 and 999 will

produced at the Flimby factory is inferior. If I had to pick just one, it would definitely


be the brown and beige premium suede based shoe. Impossible to resist its design. It


regales the retina as much as an espresso coffee topped with a creamy milk foam.

thanks to the collab bearing the signature of Aimé Leon Dore, takes all the honors.

First, the retro model deserves more respect. It was released 6 years before the

Among the late 2018 sneakers that have flown under the radar is the New Balance


M999JTC (ditto for the 247 update). Looking at the photos, one wonders why people


didn’t pay attention to the premium shoe made in the USA: New Balance M 999 JTC (made in USA). The multi-colored NB 999 has the power of a pair from the Yard pack. Like




the NB 998 Curry, its upper is composed of suede. On the other hand, the


Abzorb made in USA sneaker stands out with the combination of dark blue,


gray and sky blue suede. It is quilted on the toe box and collar. Beige


and brown leather inserts are smoothly inserted at the front, back and under


the ankle.

made in England has recently made its mark with a retro sequence. The Robin Hood, a


great pair from 2006, is back with us. For the holiday season, the sneaker designed


in the Flimby factory is dressed in warm colors. The New Balance M1500RNR from the Holiday pack




features red suede, a hue reminiscent of Santa’s coat. The limited edition


also reminds us of the beautiful Asics Gel Lyte 3 Santa Claus from the Christmas


2013 collection. The contours of the N logo embroidered in gold threads


accentuate the luxurious look of the model whose quarter and heel are in


brown suede. The beige leather collar and tongue complete the design.

The New Balance Newsky, the first truly green sneaker? The New Balance Newsky is


a small revolution in the world of sneakers. This model is designed with recycled


materials….. would ethics become more than a fashion? New Balance is going green


with the sneaker.  The Newsky model is made (up to 95%) with recycled plastic bottles.








Compared to a classic pair of sneakers, the sneaker uses 73% less material.  The sole


was attached to the rest of the pair with water glue. This is simply unheard of.  I’ll

The New Balance 1500 Crooked Tongues pack, a damp squib? After the pack New Balance


and Crooked Tongues meet again 6 years after the pack “Confederacy of Villainy”.


2 New Balance 1500 “Made in England” have been made for the occasion. Are they at


the level ?   I was a bit too quick to get excited about the new collaboration between Crooked Tongues and New Balance. I have to apologize.




A form of disappointment seized me when I saw these images. The level of these sneakers


is still far from the New Balance 1500 Blackbeard “Confederacy of Villainy”. For a collaboration,


I always expect something exceptional. I see some good NB 1500 but nothing more (and


still). The American brand did not need to partner with Crooked Tongues to release such


models. The New Balance 1500 x Crooked Tongues “Made in England” will be available on


October 15th at CT and the following week at stores like Colette….
